1959: When Layton's first Arctic Circle Restaurant opened

Arctic Circle's Original location on Main Street. It was gone for years and reopened at 1075 North Fairfield Road in Layton.

THE current Arctic Circle Restaurant in Layton is located at 1075 North Fairfield Road.
However, Layton's first Arctic Circle opened at 344 North Main Street (where Pace's Drive In is located today).
This was Layton's second such fast food restaurant. The Dipper Drive In Restaurant had been located slightly north on Main Street, for almost a decade, from 1950-1959.
Dave Sandall was the developer of Layton's first Arctic Circle. It operated from about 1959 until the mid-1980s. Then, it closed and Hobo Joe's, another drive-in, took its place. Eventually, Pace's Drive In took over the building.
The current Arctic Circle on Fairfield Road opened in the early 2000s.
