Layton had a "Little Fort"

THERE'S a marker to highlight Layton's "Little Fort," in Commons Park, southeast of the Heritage Museum.
Kaysville had a bigger fort and so Layton's was known as the Little Fort. Eventually, that fort led to the naming of Fort Lane road, which is near where the actual fort was, in the 1860s.
